EQUAL JUSTICE WYOMING ANNOUNCES GRANT APPLICATION PROCESS FOR CIVIL LEGAL AID PROGRAMS
Angie Dorsch, Executive Director of Equal Justice Wyoming, announced the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking qualified non-profit organizations who are interested in providing civil legal aid to the low-income population of Wyoming. Equal Justice Wyoming, established under the Wyoming Civil Legal Services Act, is charged with expanding civil legal services throughout the state and utilizes a grant program as one way to accomplish this goal. A maximum total of up to $850,000 is available for the upcoming grant year for this purpose.
“Equal Justice Wyoming is currently the single largest funder for civil legal aid in this state and our grants significantly expand legal services in Wyoming,” Dorsch said. “During our last fiscal year, more than 3,500 eligible individuals received direct legal assistance through Equal Justice Wyoming, and our grantees and many more benefited from the legal information and resources on our website.”
Equal Justice Wyoming funds programs providing a wide range of civil legal help, from protecting victims of domestic violence to assistance for individuals who have been victims of consumer fraud. “Without these services, low-income and vulnerable individuals would have no place to turn for help to resolve their legal problems,” said Dorsch.
Qualified non-profit organizations may submit proposals for programs or pilot projects that will promote access to justice for the people of Wyoming in accordance with Equal Justice Wyoming’s rules and regulations.
The deadline to submit a proposal is April 30, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. For more information about the RFP and available grants, visit Equal Justice Wyoming’s website at
